TELIAMURA CORRESPONDENT

For the past several years, the Horn Bill Festival has been creating a huge response around the endangered Dhanesh bird. Basically, these arrangements are observed in the initiative and administrative management of the forest department so that appropriate awareness is created for the maintenance of such endangered birds. This year is no different, with the JFMC-based Horn Bill Festival kicking off on Sunday.

As part of this Horn Bill Festival organized by Hawaii Bari and Sardu Karkari JFMC in Hawaii Bari School grounds. Kalyani Saha Roy, chief inspector of the Tripura government, senior officials of the forest department, Jamuna Das Roy, chairman of Teliamura Panchayat Samiti and others were present as the chief guests in this event. Apart from explaining the significance of the event, MLA Kalyani Saha Roy appealed to everyone to come forward to save the almost extinct Dhanesh bird due to environmental needs. Besides, she claimed that we are very lucky since Baramura and nearby areas still have Dhanesh birds. But to save them from dwindling away is the urgent need at the hour.
