TRIPURA GOVT ANNOUNCES 5% DA

The state government has announced an additional 5% allowance for government employees and pensioners. This will be effective from January 1, 2024. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha made the announcement during the second half of the legislative assembly session on Tuesday. He informed the assembly that the state government will incur an additional expenditure of 500 crore rupees per year to provide this benefit, benefiting 1,60,932 employees and 82,000 pensioners.

Dr. Manik Saha further stated that our government has previously provided a 20% allowance in three installments after coming to power. On March 1, 2021, it was 3%, on July 1, 2022, it was 5%, and on December 1, 2022, it was announced to be 12%. Even during the pandemic situation in the state, the government provided a 3% allowance to government employees and pensioners.

Additionally, during the legislative assembly session, MLA Jitendra Choudhury raised a question about the Chief Minister's announcement. Dr. Manik Saha mentioned that 55 villages in the state have been identified under the Chief Ministers' Model Village Scheme (CMMVS). Furthermore, for the financial year 2023-24, an additional 100 villages have been identified under the CMMVS. He elaborated that besides various developmental initiatives in these identified model villages, emphasis has been placed on additional opportunities and facilities such as vaccination drives, reducing school dropouts, empowering women through involvement in self-help groups, cleanliness, and nutrition gardens, among others.

The Chief Minister also informed that each identified village has been provided with 12,63,635 rupees until December 31, 2023, as an additional amount. However, after the mentioned date, each identified village has been provided with 1,81,818 rupees.
